What shockwave therapy actually does
Shockwave therapy sends focused acoustic pressure waves through the skin into a specific tissue target. There is no incision, no injection and no anesthesia. The applicator is placed over the area the exam identified, and the pulses are delivered in a short in-office session.
At ChiroMed the device is Omniwave, and it is used two ways: on joints and soft tissue, and on the sexual wellness line. Naming the hardware matters, because "shockwave" covers several very different machines and protocols, and a patient comparing clinics deserves to know which one is in the room.
Shockwave is rarely the whole plan here.
